Dancers of the Contemporary Program are apprentices, advanced pre-professionals, and early-career professionals from leading dance companies and training centers around the world. They will present a work-in-progress created on them by choreographer Cayetano Soto, a Barcelona-based dancemaker and currently a Resident Choreographer at Ballet BC.
Program Director Milton Myers guest teaches and choreographs internationally, and is on faculty at The Ailey School and The Juilliard School. Joining him to coach and mentor the dancers during their concluding week of study in the Perles Family Studio are: Lillian Barbeito, co-founder and artistic director of BODYTRAFFIC; Aya Kaneko, School alumna and Myers’ assistant; John Levis, Music Director; and Luis R. Torres, Ballet Master with Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal.
