Join us for a beautiful outdoor site-specific performance ANIMA by Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet.  Internationally recognized choreographer Robert Sher-Machherndl takes the audience on a personal, emotional journey reflecting the vision of the artist’s soul via experimental and innovative movement language. Its purpose to enlighten the community via this radical contemporary choreography rendition.

ANIMA is set to a soundscape of layered music comprised of chanson, electronic and avant-garde. The event will culminate with an audience/artist discussion, a stimulating conversation with choreographer Robert Sher-Machherndl and co-director Jenifer Sher. To be presented on a spacious architectural patio together with comfortable chairs and large sun umbrellas for optimal audience comfort.

Anima originated from Latin, and was originally used to describe ideas such as breath, soul, spirit or vital force. Jung began using the term in the early 1920s to describe the inner feminine side of men.” [Wikipedia]

“ a highlight of the program.” — The New York Times

One of “ten companies you should be obsessed with.” — Dance Spirit Magazine

“Sher-Machherndl’s movement style, reminiscent of William Forsythe, seems to deliberately accentuate his length and angularity, which becomes striking in combination with his clear center and precise technique.”  — The Dance Enthusiast
