Originally from the UK Georgii Povydysh is a breakdance performer, teacher and choreographer. He organized the first Dance Club at Godalming College, UK Teaching members the basics of dance and how to safely practice on their own. Having moved to New York City in 2013 he started right away with the Cynthia King Dance Studio in Brooklyn. Participating in public performances, promotional videos and choreography.

Most recently he’s worked with teaching youth at Angela’s Russian Dance Academy, emphasizing originality, creativity, and freestyle movement. Providing a safe learning environment with appropriate warm-ups, stretches and learning procedures. Additional experience includes Brooklyn College Dance Club, Project Outreach in Queens, NIA Community Service Network and NYU Breakdance Club.

Georgii has a great deal of experience in the studio just as much as he has out of it. It’s important in class to train properly, learn the basics and then help dancers bring their own original movement to the forefront. Including education on the art and history of breakdance.

Class Description
George’s workshop will focus, primarily, on the fundamentals of breaking. It will include all the elements, toprock, footwork, power and freezes. At first students will master the basics before moving on to the more complicated movements.

Students will explore self-creativity and expression with the basic movements that they have been taught. The workshop will also focus on techniques to foster the students own creativity using various exercises.

Students will also learn various strength and conditioning exercises as well as various “pre- requisites” to the harder movements such as powermoves. The class will include a simple breakdown of these moves and how to practice them.

At the end of every class there will be a cypher, which will allow students to showcase the skills that they have learned.

Workshop Fees
Single Class: $22
