Two Programs, Four World Premieres, BDT Classics, Live Music.
BDT brings to the stage Jacqulyn Buglisi's masterpieces Requiem -- featuring founding members Terese Capucilli, Christine Dakin and Virginie Mecene on Opening Night -- and Suspended Women as well as company favorites Caravaggio Meets Hopper with guest artists Martine van Hamel and Charles Askegard, Rain and Threshold.
In tribute to this landmark season, the company presents four world premieres:
This is Forever, a love story, with composer Steve Margoshes on piano; Snow Falling on Water, a tender duet set to an original score by Andy Teirstein performed live; Butterflies and Demons, exploring the tragedy of human trafficking set to music by Daniel Bernard Roumain; and ZJAWA, by guest choreographer Katarzyna Skarpetowska with music by John Zorn. Nacho Duato solo excerpts from his ballet Arenal are a season highlight.
