Buglisi Dance Theatre at Ailey Citigroup Theater
Buglisi Dance Theatre
Buglisi Dance Theatre launches its 25th anniversary season with a program that includes a preview of artistic director Jacqulyn Buglisi's "Moss #5 Variation: Dialogues on what makes us Human," set to music by Jeff Beal. The program also features "Bare to the Wall Suite," dances by Buglisi and Foreman from a 1996 work originally commissioned by The Joyce Theater for its Altogether Different Series; the Foreman solo "Prelude," danced by Ari Mayzick; and Buglisi's exquisite "Requiem," to Faure's Requiem. The splendid resident company, which includes Virginie Mecene, Kevin Predmore and So Young An, will be joined by guests Blakely White-McGuire, former principal dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, and Abdiel Cedrick Jacobsen and Lloyd Knight, current Graham Company members.
