Chez Bushwick Presents "Biting the Stone from the Inside" Work In Progress
Chez Bushwick Presents Biting the Stone from the Inside, a piece which explores the possibility and constraint that language imposes on the imagination through the performers’ movements, sounds and speech. Directed by Sidney Russell and performed by James Lovell and Lily Bo Shapiro, the dance weaves together the endangered language of Garifuna with movements made audible on a paper-covered floor.
Sidney Russell is an artist and independent curator based in New York. Her artworks explore hybrid structures, and integrate different performance mediums.
