CityDanceNY presents an evening of classical and contemporary ballets celebrating the sentiments of summer including the upcoming French Fête nationale (Le 14 Juillet or "Bastille Day" as New Yorkers call it).

Performed by the multi-ethnic interntational company, the programme includes Debussy's Afternoon of a Faun (L'après-midi d'un faune), the pas de deux from Flames of Paris and other gems of French Classical Ballet.  Also featuring a neo-classical ballet to the Jazz/Classical fusion music of the late Claude Bolling, the programme culminates with A Midsummer Night's Dream (Le Songe d'une nuit d'été).

Combining beauty, drama, humour and wit, it is a perfect banquet of music and dance to lead up to Bastille Day festivities.  The programme is family friendly, both an engaging first taste of ballet for children and a satisfying cultural repast for adults.

The intimate Theatre at Eglise St. Jean Baptiste provides a unique opportunity to experience high level classical ballet dancing up close.  Don't miss this fabulous opportunity!  And don't forget to check out some of the wonderful French bistros in the neighborhood before or after the show.
