Last season culminated in a successful gala at the renowned Ailey Citigroup Theater, where we performed for our largest audience to date, exceeded our fundraising goals, and honored the legacy of dance legend Sarita Allen. The evening also celebrated our history through the reconstruction of Elisa Monte’s seminal work, Pigs & Fishes, and showcased CLYMOVE’s future through the world premieres of Inner Tides by Company Dancer JoVonna Parks and Hips by Artistic Director Clymene Aldinger. We ended the season with glowing praise from The Dance Enthusiast, describing CLYMOVE as “a powerhouse company” and “a collective to be on the lookout for.”

As we look ahead, we ask you to continue your partnership with us through buying tickets/making a donation for our March 2025 Season Gala. This Spring marks CLYMOVE’s 5th Anniversary Season - a significant milestone we will celebrate with a four-night performance run at New York Live Arts, featuring audience favorites alongside exciting new work.

Your leadership will not only play an essential role in the success of the 2025 Gala, but will also help ensure the future of CLYMOVE as we continue to promote virtuosic dance while prioritizing the mental and emotional well-being of our artists.

CLYMOVE’s Annual Gala centers on women’s mentorship and will honor Ana Marie Forsythe and Denise Jefferson (in memoriam), both having been Clymene Aldinger’s and three of our Board of Directors’ advisors at The Ailey School/inaugural graduating class of the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program (1998-2002).

Current Co-Director of The Ailey School/Director of the Ailey Fordham BFA Program, Melanie Person, will serve as Gala Chair and present this year’s honorees with the Elisa Monte Leadership Legacy Award (established in 2023 for its namesake and Aldinger’s Artistic Advisor Elisa Monte).

The program will include eight works, a return of commissioned choreographer and founding dancer JoVonna Parks’ “Inner Tides”, as well as six works of repertory spanning 2019-2025, and the World Premiere of Aldinger’s new creation “Martha Always Said”.

Your commitment has been instrumental in sustaining our mission to create message-driven dance that celebrates our differences and nurtures our shared humanity. As a vital member of the CLYMOVE family, you have helped us grow into a thriving company of seven professional dancers, each contributing to our evolving repertory of virtuosic work centered on female empowerment and mentorship. We could not achieve this without you.

Your generous support will directly benefit the following:

Dancer Salaries: CLYMOVE is committed to providing our dancers with a living rehearsal wage for rehearsals, ensuring their mental, emotional, and financial well-being as working artists. This season, we welcomed a new Company Dancer, bringing us to a strong cohort of seven.

Studio Rental for Rehearsal: With our continued growth, CLYMOVE has relocated to a new home at Mark Morris Dance Group, allowing our dancers to reach their full creative potential in a spacious studio.

Theater Rental and Production Costs: CLYMOVE’s 5th Anniversary Season will be held at the esteemed New York Live Arts which requires a sizable professional crew. This is our largest production and most ambitious costs to date.

Sincerely grateful for your ongoing support and look forward to celebrating the future of CLYMOVE with you!
