An afternoon or evening of Irish music and dance geared toward any skill level or age. Participants will learn Irish social dances and enjoy traditional tunes on the accordion, bodhran (drum), and spoons. Artistic Director Darrah Carr and Guest Artist Niall O’Leary will also also perform excerpts from their Irish duets program. A perfect complement to any performance engagement or residency.
"Irish American Darrah Carr is bringing a touch of Ireland to upstate New York with her unique blend of Irish and modern dance. Her choreography resembles a celitc knot, using 3-D picture embroidery as a template for her dancers. In her performances you can actually see a sense of weaving in and out of one another. Her style of dance is very free, beautifully blending elements of modern dance with traditional Irish dance.
