Concert of World & NY Premieres
Peridance Contemporary Dance Company
Igal Perry's Peridance Contemporary Dance Company presents a 2-weekend NY season with guest Jose Manuel Carreno (1st weekend) and a program of NY and World Premieres by Perry and guest choreographers Kristin Sudeikis and Sidra Bell. All evening performances will feature live music; a String Quartet led by cellist Nan-Cheng Chen for Perry's World Premiere to music by Henryk Gorecki, and the PostClassical Ensemble, conducted by Angel Gil-Ordonez joined by flamenco singer Marija Temo accompanying the NY premiere of Perry's "El Amor Brujo." May 5, 6, 12 & 13. The May 6 matinee, entitled "Afternoon in Spain," will consist of "El Amor Brujo," also to live music, followed by discussion with Flamenco and Spanish culture scholars. All performances at the Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance, 126 E 13th St.
