Contemporary Forms is Gibney Dance's highly curated dance series, offering professional-level classes with renowned teachers from varying genres and companies.
Shen Wei Dance Arts Company Class serves as an introduction to Shen Wei's Natural Body Development Technique and a unique opportunity to learn excerpts from selected Shen Wei Dance Arts repertory. We will explore breath, internal energy, center-shifting, momentum, spirals, rotations and flow through both technical and creation-based exercises. Pulling from individual and collective movement research, each dancer will have a chance to work on both group and solo material within the repertory works. Great attention will be paid to investigating the details of the movement and understanding the inspiration and context for the choreography.
