Cracks of Light, part of Gibney Dance’s observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, bears witness to survivors of intimate partner and gender-based violence in programs of performance works created during the journey from struggle to survival. Bringing forward stories once held in silence, each evening gives voice to the power of art and community. Presenting performances by several artists, re-stagings of advocacy pieces created in collaboration with survivors and youth, and works by and for some of Gibney Dance’s strongest Community Action partnerships, Cracks of Light reflects upon the organization’s Community Action work to date and looks ahead to the future.

Performances Include: All the Different Kinds of Sweat by Kimberleigh Costanzo; Itzik Galili’s Tiny Little Bite performed by Troy Ogilvie; and works by longtime collaborators from the Sanctuary for Families Mentor’s program.

Post-performance discussions will follow each evening’s program.
