Creative Movers Choreographic Initiative 2026 (CMCI)

Bradley Shelver, Artistic Director of the Joffrey Concert Group NY, announces the Creative Movers Choreographic Initiative 2026 (CMCI), calling emerging choreographers in NYC and the Tri-State Area to apply. CMCI offers two choreographers, between the ages of 19 and 35, the opportunity to create original works for the 20-member Joffrey Concert Group. Those selected will each receive a $2,500 stipend and 40 hours of rehearsal time over a 4-week period to develop a new piece between 12 and 17 minutes in length. Applicants may work in contemporary or modern ballet styles. The works willb e fully produced and presented in a theater at the Company's NY season, Feb. 20 & 21, 2026.
