“I Hear America Singing, I see America Dancing” celebrates the 200th birthday anniversary of Walt Whitman. This very special program will be presented at the Walt Whitman birthplace during their annual “Family & Friends” Reunion Day. On this milestone birthday anniversary of poet Walt Whitman (May 31, 1819) and Isadora Duncan's 141st birthday, (May 27 1878), we celebrate the legacy of these two pivotal artists. Isadora Duncan was greatly influenced by Whitman, calling him her spiritual teacher. We will pay tribute to these two kindred spirits through word, dance and music.  Excerpts of poems by Whitman are illustrated by authentic Duncan dances. We are delighted to present this outdoor program, on the lawn of the Walt Whitman Birthplace during the Walt Whitman "Friends and Family Reunion Week-end".
