Legendary actress and co-founder of The Living Theatre JUDITH MALINA will be honored with an "Educational Visionary" Lifetime Achievement Award by Mark De Garmo & Dancers at their annual fundraiser. Academy Award-winning actress OLYMPIA DUKAKIS will make the presentation at the Company's benefit, November 14, 7 to 11 PM at the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Educational Center, 107 Suffolk Street (between Delancey & Rivington). Nicky Paraiso, curator at La MaMa E.T.C., will host the evening that includes hors d'oeuvres and drinks, a silent auction, a student performance, a special dance lesson for anyone with dancing feet, and dancing for all to a DJ.
The Benefit will help De Garmo & Dancers continue to provide inspiring educational dance programs to approximately 1,500 youngsters in four NYC public schools. The renowned Malina has also been a tireless mentor and educator, a role that she continues at the age of 88.
