Dancewave's Spring Gala 2016
Join Dancewave at our annual Spring Gala fundraiser in celebration of dance, diversity, and community! On April 20th at Roulette Brooklyn, Dancewave will host a night of cocktails, Dutch auction, and performances by Dancewave Companies & Ensembles.
The Dancewave Gala is a night honoring arts philanthropists and those who enable Dancewave to provide youth development through dance. We hold this special event in order to raise awareness and funds in support of our mission: “Transforming lives through dance.” Because of your support, Dancewave brings dance into public schools, offers affordable dance classes to Brooklyn youth, and enables teens to train with world famous choreographers.
This year’s honorees include director, choreographer, and former So You Think You Can Dance judge Mia Michaels, architect and Studio Joseph founder Wendy Evans Joseph, and New York City council member and founder of Brooklyn’s MoCADA Museum Laurie Cumbo. Last year’s honorees and presenters included ABT’s Misty Copeland and Paloma Herrera, New York City Council Members Jimmy Van Bramer and Stephen Levin, Rockefeller Brothers Fund Program Director Ben Rodriguez-Cubeñas and WABC-TV’s Sade Baderinwa and Saundra Thomas.
