chashama is pleased to announce DRAW ME a 30-minute series of performances that slowly build from the casual to highly theatrical. The Equus Projects’ dancers are all trained in natural horsemanship; when performing with horses, they must be dancing in a constant state of real time decision making. In DRAW ME, they bring this skill into their collaboration with visual artists. The artists’ brushstrokes create and direct the content of the choreography.

Visual Art Project Director: Ryan Hartley
Visual Artists: Alan Bolle, Ellen Colcord, and Jeff Hopkins
Dancers: Rebekah Morin, Carlye Eckert, and Brittany Beyer-Schubert

About The Equus Projects:
The Equus Projects is a dance company that partners dancers with horses to create site-specific performances which merge the artistry of dance and horsemanship. The company engages in ongoing movement research that explores dancing in real time and the choreographic possibilities for shaping taste-based physicality into theatrical image.

This exhibit is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
