EDUCATIONAL  PROGRAMMING  AT  CHEN  DANCE  CENTER
70 Mulberry Street  (corner of Mulberry & Bayard in NYC's Chinatown)

Chen Dance Center, directed by H.T. Chen and Dian Dong, has its usual busy season of educational programming, including June 14-16 performances of the school's students in creative movement dances, ballet, modern dance, and hip hop.

The thriving school, located at 70 Mulberry Street in Chinatown, offers classes in different dance styles, as well as lecture/demonstrations, workshops, and even lessons in Chinese history and culture.   During the summer, the organization will also undergo renovations to improve its work spaces, lobby, staircase, and entryway at 70 Mulberry Street, one of Chinatown's historic buildings.

Chen Dance Center's mission is to provide important experiences in Asian American and contemporary dance through artistic creation, arts education, and presentations.  Chen Dance Center is comprised of the resident H.T. Chen & Dancers company, the School, and the Theater, which supports artists through self-presented and rental performances.   The organization is funded by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, NYS Council on the Arts, NEA, Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, Ford Foundation, Metlife Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, New York Community Trust, Pfizer Foundation, Regions Financial, and Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.
