Blending modern dance and live music, Artists By Any Other Name’s “Elements Of” explores fragmented and latent emotions hidden within the seemingly mundane.

The program juxtaposes and commingles a diverse range of elements aimed at capturing a fleeting moment of clarity and familiarity. Lights and shadows, movement and stillness, harmony and discord, introspection and extrospection, fire and water, earth and air — these diametric components play both in unison and opposition, always seeking to glimpse the most complete and true essence of the whole.

The program also features original choreography by New York-based female choreographers set to contemporary minimalist music by mostly female composers. Mirrors and flashlights create intensified moments of reflection, enlightenment, and invisibility. Interweaving abstract expressions of the four classical elements of Greek mythology, we aim to uncover elements of the world we perceive, of the people and places we know, and of ourselves.
