Class Description:
Expressive Flamenco© is an emerging expressive arts practice that explores holistic healing through the prescribed movements of flamenco dance. It begins by turning the dancer's attention inward, with the goal of connecting with the authentic self. In this 2-hour evening workshop, participants will be introduced to this new expressive arts-based method through a group experiential demonstrating the healing power of Expressive Flamenco©. Combining dance with other expressive arts activities, this practice promotes self-realization and wellbeing through the freedom of multimodal self-expression. This inclusive, arts-based approach provides participants with the opportunity to engage in a cross-culturally enriched activity that has therapeutic benefits on a variety of levels—not the least of which is expressing emotions from sadness and frustration to joy and jubilation during a pandemic time of uncertainty and restriction. No dance talent necessary. All are invited.
Our festival passes are offered on a donation-based sliding scale, no one will be turned away because of a lack of funds.
