FLORIDA: Gregg and Tamar's "Enter The Faun" Premieres At Sarasota Film Festival

Dear Supporters of Enter The Faun,
We are so happy to let you know that Enter The Faun will premiere on April 15th and 18th at the Sarasota Film Festival in Florida. We are terribly excited as you can imagine. Gregg and Tamar will travel to Sarasota and workshops and outreach activities are being planned.
Last we wrote to you we were just beginning our outreach phase. Our website is now up and running. We have been making partnerships and have advisers in the dance, medical, and disability communities. One of the most wonderful surprises and results is the reaction of doctors. Quite unexpected! The story of Gregg’s transformation shows that the brain can change. Evidence of neuroplasticity!
Last week, Gregg and Tamar spent a couple of days in Florida with Dr. Karen Pape who is writing her book, Baby Brains DO Recover, but Habit Hides It. She plans to include a chapter on their experience. Check out her website and TED Talk.
In update #19 we told you about the formation of our New York based Cerebral Posse. Since then, other Posses have formed in Oregon, Australia, and coming up in Poland. For updates, see the Cerebral Posse Tumblr and the Posse page on our website.
We also had a remarkable experience at the Hunter College Arnhold Graduate Dance Education Program, where we partnered our Posse members (all who have Cerebral Palsy) with their student choreographers. The point was to show that dancers are experts on their bodies and people with CP are experts on theirs. Together the partners made gorgeous dances in six or seven rehearsals and performed them.
After we show the film at official festivals, we will do grassroots screenings in 2016. Let us know if you can envision any opportunities in your community. Check out the “Screenings” section on our website if you are interested in hosting one in your area.
We aren’t allowed to send out Enter The Faun videos to all of you until the festival circuit is well underway. It will be some time after that that you will receive your copy of Enter The Faun. Many apologies for keeping you waiting but as a new filmmaker, I’ve learned that 5 years isn’t that long!
Thank you for your continued support and we’ll be in touch with more good news.
Best from all of us on the team,
Tamar, Gregg, Daisy, Veronique, Jessica (our new outreach manager), and Karl (our intern)
