For a debut performance at Socrates Sculpture Park, teen dancers from the Young Dancemakers Company will present original danceworks as part of their citywide tour. With a mix of roving and on-site performances, teens create expressive choreography with vital themes that are relevant, mindful, witty, and fun. This dynamic group blends live and recorded music with excerpts from their repertoire by renowned master choreographers. For the 2016 tour, students learn and perform an excerpt by Robert Battle, Artistic Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
