Final Performances of MUSA! Festival This Weekend!
"Zvi Gotheiner, Cherylyn Lavagnino, and Dusan Tynek ... create pieces rich in dancing and musically sensitive, and they craft their dances expertly...All are inventive...the opening night program was heavy- freighted with big, musical, full-bodied dancing- but beauty abounded." - Deborah Jowitt, ArtsJournal
"[ZviDance's] "Dabke" strikes me as the most enchanting piece I've seen in a long while...continually surprising, even revelatory, throughout...The most interesting moments of Mr. Tynek's dances...are when he breaks away from symmetry, conventional musicality and politely orthodox male-female couplings...When "Widow's Walk," though geometrically very ordered, starts to show the ways in which its men and women are in different zones and moods, it breaks...into real drama." - Alastair Macaulay, The New York Times
Please join us this weekend for the final performances of the MUSA! Festival at Baruch Performing Arts Center, also featuring ZviDance.

Dusan Tynek has joined forces with Cherylyn Lavagnino and Zvi Gotheiner, three choreographers whose creative instincts are driven by music, to create a new festival - MUSA! - at Baruch Performing Arts Center from June 12 - 22nd. As part of our 10th anniversary year, Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre will feature 3 highly-acclaimed dances from 2007 to 2011: Fleur-de-lis, Apian Way, and Widow's Walk. Join us on Friday evening to see all of our repertory, or see two of the dances alongside ZviDance's highly acclaimed "Dabke" at the Saturday matinee. Dusan Tynek Dance Theatre's performances will feature live music by the amazingly gifted violinists Jane Chung and Fabiola Kim. More info and tix here
