January 2015 – GAP Presents! LoudHoundMovement – Gowanus Art and Production is thrilled to welcome LoudHoundMovement to Sky Gallery for the premier of their newest work, The Span. Co-choreographed by Artistic Directors Mallory Lynn and Brendan Duggan, The Span captures the journey of everyman through various physical and temporal landscapes. Inspired by surrealist photographic self-portraiture, LoudHoundMovement’s newest work explores the path between beginning and end, and the choices we make in between that define our varying landscapes and perspectives. The Span has been created in close collaboration with projection artist Carmen Osterlye, videographer Jake Saner, composer Gabriel Medina and seven performance artists.
Gowanus Art + Production – is the Art Division of the Gowanus Hospitality Group, a for-profit company, and home to the Green Building, 501 Union, and the Sky Gallery. Gowanus Art + Production began in the winter of 2013 with the purpose of providing innovative space for art to happen throughout the Gowanus Hospitality Group venues. Gowanus Art + Production also rents space for performances, film and photo shoots.
LoudHoundMovement – LoudHoundMovement is a choreographic partnership based in Brooklyn, New York, which aims to enhance artistic integrity in contemporary dance-making through research, idea exchange and public performance, often times adding elements of multi-media. LHM focuses on a creation process that is highly influenced by the individuality of their dancers, and the distinctive self-expression of these artists. LHM premiered its first evening of work at the Center for Performance Research in November of 2012. Since then, LHM has premiered work at the CURRENT SESSIONS, Gallim Dance Block Party, The Playground After Dark, Dance Gallery Festival at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, FAB! Festival NYC, Gowanus Art and Production Open Studios, GAP Presents! at the Green Building, Hoover Dam Collective, and The Creator's Collective.
