Company:
Garth Fagan Dance
Garth Fagan Dance returns to The Joyce for its 55th anniversary season with a program themed around hope and optimism. It features two New York City premieres, Priestess Hill by Artistic Director Norwood “PJ” Pennewell and Messages To The Storm by Executive Director Natalie Rogers-Cropper. They join Garth Fagan’s Prelude: Discipline is Freedom and his 1985 Never Top 40 (Jukebox). Known for Fagan Technique™, a blend of modern, postmodern, Afro-Caribbean and ballet, the company was founded in Rochester in 1970. Running time is 90 minutes with one intermission. A post-show curtain chat follows Thursday, November 5, and a Family Matinee is Saturday, November 7.
