Gibney Company returns to New York Live Arts with its annual Up Close series, offering audiences an intimate look at the artistry and creative process behind contemporary dance. This year’s program is dedicated to acclaimed Swedish choreographer Johan Inger, featuring the world premiere of When It Was, the Company premiere of Rain Dogs, and the return of audience favorite Bliss. Together, the works highlight Inger’s theatrical style and emotional depth, set to music by American composers Tom Waits, Samuel Barber, and Keith Jarrett. Post-show conversations with the artists invite audiences further into the creative dialogue.
