Pianist/producer Polly Ferman's "GlamourTango" will open the 2014 Latino Cultural Festival, July 29, 8 PM, at Queens Theatre.
Created as a tribute to the early unheralded women of tango, "GlamourTango" features a stunning all-female cast of dancers, musicians, and vocalists, along with some fascinating and rarely seen black and white films from early 1940's Argentina. Dancers are Mariana Parma, Mariana Galassi, Karina Romero, Ana Padron and Valeria Solomonoff. Musicians are Polly Ferman, Ina Paris, Yael Archer and Iris Ornig, playing tango music by Astor Piazzolla, Horacio Salgan, and more.
"Glamourtango" was premiered in Montevideo in 2009 and has since delighted audiences in Buenos Aires, Brazil, Montreal, Chicago, San Francisco and NYC.
