New York City Ballet principal and one of the most lauded ballet artists dancing today, Sara Mearns’ unlikely interpretation of turn-of-the-century modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan’s solos was hailed by the New York Times as “a revelation…bold and brave…breathtaking …thrilling.”

Mearns joins premiere third generation Duncan interpreter and ambassador Lori Belilove, whose prestigious performing career has earned her an international reputation, “This is Duncan dancing of unusual vigor, physical weight and whole-heartedness” (The New York Times), and the accomplished Cameron Grant, for three decades principle NYCB pianist “building the aural environment within which a dance exists” (New York Times), for a performance of Isadora solos created from 1900 to 1924, and discussion about the artists’ collaboration for the Lincoln Center performance that left critics and audiences raving.
