Day of Dance is an extraordinary way to encounter the beauty of Grounds For Sculpture. The festival features outdoor performances by choreographers, storytellers, and poets inspired by specific sculptures and landscapes throughout the park. The artists explore what stories touch us, move us, and invite us more deeply into our aliveness. They ask what stories do we resist, which ones do we embrace, what stories are uniquely ours to tell? This is a festival that brings you to multiple spaces at GFS, so as much as possible, please wear comfortable shoes...not just the artists will be moving!
2023 choreographers are Esther Baker-Tarpaga, Jenna Charko, Heidi Cruz-Austin, Kiana Rosa Fischer, Shuning Huang, Sri Thina Subramaniam & Aparna Shankar, Jennifer Turnbull, and Cierra Woods.
