Hanna Q Dance Company is a Contemporary-Modern Dance Company full of energy! The Swedish born and raised Artistic Director and Choreographer, Johanna LjungQvist-Brinson (Hanna Q) founded HQDC in May 2013.During each performance, the company sweeps the audience into a different world full of emotions. Johanna engulfs one in the atmosphere she creates. One gets lost in the movements, the music, the lighting, and the interactions between the dancers.  The choreography is comprised of technically rigorous movements, derived from Johanna’s background in Dunham technique, as well as partnering at once intricately acrobatic and viscerally human. Her dancers’ express bursts of passion and athleticism, while taking the audience along on her journey. The company has performed in venues mostly in NYC, including Dixon Place, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Dance Festival, TADA!Theater, The Actors Fund Arts Center, Green Space, New York Live Arts, The Triskelion Arts, and West End Theater.

This October 14th Hanna Q Dance Company is celebrating it’s 5th anniversary and we will be performing both existing repertory and some that is being choreographed just as this is being written… It will be a very special evening! There will be a “Gala Anniversary Reception” at 5pm, in the upstairs bar at Dixon Place, for $30.00 which includes a Drink & Snacks with the performance at 6 pm downstairs on the mainstage. The Performance will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes with a short break between. The evening will include 4-5 of Johanna’s (Hanna Q ‘s) works, 2 new pieces that will be premiering.
