BEAMER-SOLOMON HULA WORKSHOP JUNE 4 TO FEATURE ‘KIMO HULA’

As a follow-up to the Peter Norton Symphony Space performance, Halau O Po’ohala will present a workshop sharing the Beamer-Solomon method of dance from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Sat., June 4, 2011 at New York City’s Dodger Atelier 311 West 43rd and 8th Avenue.
New York, NY The program will begin with an overview of hula and the articulation of Hawaiian values, and then teach dancers “Kimo Hula,” as composed by Great Grandmother Helen Desha Beamer. Teaching the workshop will be Loea Kumu Hulali Solomon Covington, Kakau ‘Olelo Malama Solomon, and Kumu Hula Keala Ching. Cost for the workshop is 0.
