Join us In the Studio! BAC's residency program provides artists across disciplines with time and space to develop ideas, projects, and collaborations. This fall, several resident artists will open BAC's studio doors to the public, offering a rare glimpse into the creative process. Resident artist Jill Sigman invites you into the studio October 18 for a work-in-progress showing of the research and performance project she will develop during her two-week residency at BAC. PERMA(culture) explores ways in which living systems can inform movement, and how movement can be a catalyst for changing our relation to the natural world.

Also this month: BAC hosts the first installment of a series conceived by choreographer and performer Nora Chipaumire bringing together African women who have made pioneering contributions to contemporary dance. The presentation on October 24 culminates a weeklong residency at BAC during which Montreal-based Congolese dance artist Zab Maboungou will create a new solo work to be performed by Chipaumire. A conversation with the artists follows, moderated by dance writer and historian Dr. Charmaine Warren.
