On Saturday, September 26, 2015, the fourth chapter of CRAWL and the culminating performance of our pilot year will take to the 10,000 square foot warehouse at 395 Johnson Ave in Brooklyn, NY at 7:30 PM. The event features immersive dance performances from Dante Brown | Warehouse Dance and Gregory Dolbashian | The Dash Ensemble, as well as music and poetry from E.Oks | Evan Okun.
Tickets include one free drink, sponsored by Sixpoint Brewery and New York Distilling Company.
WHAT YOU'LL SEE:
DB|WD will be showing Soapbox {LP} at CRAWL, a work that addresses the cyclical process of stealing in American popular music since the early twentieth century, and how stealing operates as a cultural tool to maintain imbalanced power dynamics based on race and class in American culture.
Gregory Dolbashian and his DASH Ensemble bring to CRAWL: Chapter 4 a story about growing up, told through an aesthetic that explodes, twists, and deconstructs the parameters of the physical and spatial possibilities of movement and perception.
E.Oks will blend spoken word, freestyle rap, and jazz in a performance called Play Pretend, which will examine the ways we pretend to be normal.
