Inaugural Season Features 70‘s Theme Gala, Performances, Silent Auction
BOOGIE DOWN with Sue Samuels and Special Guests and celebrate the diversity of traditional jazz dance, a style that has inspired generations of Broadway shows and musicals worldwide!
NEW YORK CITY – March 11, 2013 — Jazz Roots Dance Company & Divine Rhythm Productions is proud to present the first annual Jazz Roots Dance Gala and season of performances, an event spearheaded by World-renowned Jazz Dance Icon Sue Samuels celebrating Jazz Dance traditions.
Saturday April 27th Gala Opening Night at 8pm and Sunday, April 28th with shows at 2pm and 6pm. The Gala will be hosted by Emmy Award Winning Tap Dancer Jason Samuels Smith and feature a guest performance by Broadway Veteran William Daniel Grey (Jesus Christ Superstar) along with company repertory by Artistic Director/Choreographer Sue Samuels (Melba Moore, Brooke Shields, Got Tu Go Disco) including two world premieres and audience favorites Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Fly Me To The Moon, Take 5, Rat Pack and Fever.
