Dance New Amsterdam believes in fostering joy of movement in children, guiding them in discovering and challenging their bodies while nurturing creative spirit. Kids @ DNA programming lets young dancers explore the excitement of different dance genres, and blends these skills with the narrative potential of storytelling through dance. Academic year & summer sessions explore and ground dancers in multiple dance styles, and include collaboration with the dancers to develop choreographic concepts. The end of each session culminates in a showcase which families and friends are welcome to attend. Get ready to come see your dancer shine!

Academic Year 2012-2013:
Hour long classes offered Saturdays from 10:30-11:30am
Classes open to ages 4-10
Drop-in classes are available.

Dance genres included in 2012-2013 Syllabus:
-Ballet
-Jazz
-Tap
-Theater Dance
-Improvisation/Choreography

Session One: October 6 – January 26 (14 classes)
STORYTIME THEATER: Tap vocabulary and rhythms are coordinated with narrative possibilities of Musical Theater Dance. Students learn age-appropriate vocabulary and coordination skills, and are guided to use these skills in developing and choreographing a story they help create.
FAMILY SHOWCASE DAY: January 26
