Project Runway Designer Andrae Gonzalo & Choreographer Jamie Benson will take part in the NY Transit Museum's 1st curated performance series, Platform. In the selected work, Party To-Go, a service industry professional encounters a glimmer of hope while serving up his usual dish of despair. Get your ticket to ride now.
This dance is part of Benson & Gonzalo's popular full evening works, Mass Transit & Go Metro, inspired by the mundane & extraordinary scenarios encountered within LA public transit. These works have been featured in the LA Times, LA Weekly, & GOOD Magazine, among others.
Benson & Gonzalo will adapt the piece Party To-Go to match their NYC transit experience while performing on actual transit equipment.

Jamie Benson, proclaimed as “one of the strongest, hottest contemporary dancers of his generation" by L.A. Times critic Lewis Segal, is a dancer, choreographer & Alumnus of Cornish College of Art. Heralded as "Chaplin-like” by Backstage West, Benson first garnered attention originating the role of “Eldon” in LATC’s Ovation award-winning Shag with a Twist. Benson performed in the film Rent, McDonald's Mario Art commercial, on TV series Dance360 & in the Rudy Perez Ensemble. Jamie Benson currently performs with RedWall Dance Theatre & Bardos Ballet Theater. Benson's choreographic work has been presented at Luckman Fine Arts complex, Highways Performance Space, the Bootleg Theater and Triskelion as well as featured in the New York & LA Times. Jamie Benson has instructed at Gold's Gym, Fancy Feet, the Pasadena Academy & Spoke the Hub. Benson recently led over 300 people in the NYC & Portland, Oregon line dance event Le-Grand-Continental & co-founded the Shakedown Dance Collective for amateur NYC dancers. Andrae Gonzalo is a fine artist, trained in fashion design, working in the theatre. Intrigued by the power of clothes to alter and influence perception, he followed that impulse to his Alma Mater, Otis College of Art and Design, graduating in 1999. He is also a memorable contestant from Bravo’s second season of Project Runway. As a result of his participation on the show, Gonzalo has multiplied his efforts, lecturing, costuming for dance and live performance, as well as creating works of visual and conceptual art. Gonzalo owned and operated his own boutique, “Forget it, Jake” in Los Angeles’ Chinatown from 2003-2006. He has also created and costumed several dance works with his partner, choreographer Jamie Benson.
