"L'Abbgraccio dell'Arte" (The Embrace of Art)

First Italian International Dance Festival presents "L'Abbraccio dell'Arte" (The Embrace of Art), which will bring together dancers, companies and choreographers from Italy and America in a spirit of exchange and collaboration. A few of the participating companies are Atzewi Dance Company from Modena; Aconcoli Dance di Elena Albano from Milano; Mare Nostrum Elements, NY-based directed by Nicola Iervasi of Calabria, Michael Mao Dance, NY based company in an excerpt from "Requiem" by Verdi, whose 200th birtth anniversary is being celebrated around the world, and more. A special Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented to famed jazz teacher Luigi. Virginie Mecene, director of the Martha Graham Center, will present the IIDF Teacher Award to Elena Albano of Milan. Antonio Pio Fini is Artistic Director; Tabata Caldironi is Creative Director/Host; Gianluca Blandi is Executive Producer. Friday March 22 at 7:30 PM at Julia Richman Theater, 317 East 67th Street (off Second Avenue).
