"Last Audience" by Yanira Castro / a canary torsi Work In Progress
Company:
New York Live Arts
Last Audience is the newest work by the Bessie-award-winning collaborative group, a canary torsi. It is an immersive performance installation where audience members incarnate the work at each performance. The piece utilizes the structure of a traditional requiem mass as the inspiration to develop scores for the audience. Greetings, processions, and requests for mercy, peace and liberation are the taking-off point for scores involving movement, environment and sound. Imagined as a ritual enacted specifically and uniquely with and for each audience, Yanira Castro sees Last Audience as a live laboratory for the work of conjuring.
