Triskelion Arts Presents

Triskelion Arts is pleased to present an evening of new work from Leanne Schmidt and Company, featuring guests from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ. The Phoenix Times recently praised Leanne Schmidt and Company for their “new and exciting sense of dance grounded in the present moment... subtle.... sincere work that really got us excited about the state of choreography today.”

Developed through an arsenal of choreographic methods and improvisational techniques, Schmidt’s work Melt takes the audience on a humorous and seductive journey while celebrating what is innately human about us all. Created in collaboration with NY-based dance artists Kimberly Goss, Becky Radway, Jamie Graham, Amy Larimer, Danielle Feinberg, Kaley Pruitt and Melissa Knestaut. Also premiering is ‘Til Then, a collaboration between Schmidt and Goss, that is a homage to the pair's artistic growth at Triskelion Arts. The venue is slated to relocate this summer, filling this final duet at 118. N. 11th Street with wholehearted sentiment.

The evening also features a commissioned work performed by Grand Canyon University’s Ethington Dance Ensemble (Phoenix, AZ). The students and professional company will share the stage, performing new works combining tightly interwoven choreography and highly physical movement with the subtle gestures and humor that make Schmidt’s work both heartbreaking and hysterical. Lighting design by Andrew Dickerson.
