Liz Gerring Dance Company
“No other American choreographer alive just now is making movement that so marvelously cleanses the palate the way Liz Gerring’s does,” The New York Times declared about Horizon when the full-length work premiered in 2015 to critical and audience acclaim. With strong, clean, lines and shapes, Horizon focuses on the idea of density. Expansive yet also pristine, the piece takes the form of a constantly shifting universe of activity that emphasizes Gerring’s distinct attunement to space. Performed by seven dancers, Horizon was commissioned by The Joyce and features production design by Robert Wierzel and a score by Michael J. Schumacher.
