Carolyn Dorfman Dance celebrates a return to Monroe Township with an afternoon of dynamic new work and repertory favorites.

Showing the bold technical and dramatic range of Dorfman’s work, this program features excerpts of the vibrant PRIMA!, her newest piece commissioned by Ocean County College and the Gia Maione Prima Foundation. In PRIMA!, Dorfman and her versatile company explore the robust, driving and buoyant sound of Louis Prima and his band with the powerful, virtuosic and expressive voices of Prima’s female lead singers, Gia Maione Prima and Keely Smith.

Also on the program are the joyous and whirling Pastorale Pause; audience favorite WAVES, an eclectic celebration of movement and sound; and Cat’s Cradle, one section from Dorfman’s moving, seminal work The Legacy Project, that celebrates her Eastern European Jewish roots- its trials, triumphs yet treasured commonalities across cultures and the globe.

Tickets: $25/Children and Monroe Students FREE (with current ID)

*Proof of vaccination is required for admittance for all audience members regardless of age. (All Carolyn Dorfman Dance staff, dancers and crew are vaccinated.)
