"Macbeth" by Dances Patrelle
Company:
Dances Patrelle
Dances Patrelle’s Macbeth is a “very moving” (Dance View, 2001) balletic retelling of the Bard’s classic story. Set to a sweeping, patchwork score of Tchaikovsky symphonies, Macbeth “achieves a continuous, dramatic intensity” (Dance Dairy, 1995). Francis Patrelle’s telling “succeeds to a surprising extent” (NY Times, 1995) with gorgeous costumes and paired down sets complimented by a cast of wonderful dancers, including Martin Harvey as Macbeth, Mary Beth Hansohn as Lady Macbeth and Heather Hawk as one of the Witches. Therese Wendler, Maximillien Baud, Roberto Leon, Julie Voshell and others round out the cast.
Dances Patrelle presents Macbeth from September 15-18, 2015 at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, E. 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues, NYC. Performances: Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm; Saturday at 2pm; and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $45 (student and senior discounts available) and are available at www.dancespatrelle.org, by phone at 212-772-4448, or in person at The Kaye Playhouse Box Office.
