Maestro Hector Zaraspe: A Tribute to His Life and Legacy

Gabriela Estrada, curator and mentee of Maestro Hector Zaraspe, announces "In Memoriam: Hector Zaraspe (1930-2023)". The tribute will include multidisciplinary performances by Maestro Zaraspe's mentees, with live dance, vocal, and piano music performances; an overview of his life and contributions to the arts; remarks by mentee Joseph Bartning, currently Executive Director of the Salzburg Festival Society; and closing remarks by guest, producer Mel Howard, with whom Zaraspe collaborated as a choreographer in Broadway's Tango Pasion. Born in Argentina, Maestro Zaraspe became a noted choreographer, coach of illustrious dancers, including Fonteyn and Nureyev, and faculty member at The Juilliard School, where he was a beloved teacher for 35 years. The event is free, but RSVP is required.
