In his newest work, a Lincoln Center co-commission, Mark Morris revisits Handel with an approach as bold as his groundbreaking L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato. Morris partners with longtime collaborator and early-music specialist Nicholas McGegan to tell Ovid’s triumphant love story of the shepherd Acis and the sea nymph Galatea.
There is no late seating.
This performance is approximately two hours with one intermission.
"Acis and Galatea" is a Mark Morris Dance Group/Cal Performances, Berkeley/Celebrity Series of Boston production, in association with Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts; Harriman-Jewell Series, Kansas City; and Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Sponsored by Movado.
