Matthew Westerby Company presents Uptown Dances on the Lawn!
Dongan Lawn in Fort Tryon Park, Inwood (near Broadway & Dongan Pl.) Take the A train to Dyckman 200th St.
Uptown Dances will include performances of MWC repertory including "Life/Space," excerpts of The Harlem Project and a new work created specifically for the beautiful setting of Dongan Lawn and its unique Amphitheater-style shape in collaboration with composer John P. Hastings. The performances will include MWC 2, newly formed in 2022, and guest performer Lisa Green.
The event will also feature interactive activities for all ages, including community yoga, dance for children and art-making! Join us on the lawn - free for everyone!
This program is made possible in part by support from the Fort Tryon Park Trust. This project is funded, in part, through a Seed Fund for Dance grant from the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation, thanks to the support of the Mertz Gilmore Foundation.
*In the event of rain/inclement weather, the event will take place on Sunday October 9th at the same time & location.
