LOVE|FORTE
A duet featuring long-time collaborators Marjani Forté-Saunders and Nia Love, Memory Withholdings is a 2-year ethnological and experiential study of memory held in the bodies and cultural traditions of African-descended peoples in the United States. In this evening length work, movement and installation elements are woven together to explore womanhood, ethereality, and how shared histories are embodied and become rooted in communities.
Memory Withholdings is presented as part of being Here...in Memory, on view at MoCADA until July 10, 2016. Please visit www.mocada.org for more information.
