Two World Premieres, Live Music, and a Guest Artist from American Ballet Theatre Bring Ballet Back to the Sheen Center this Spring.

MorDance returns to The Sheen Center’s Black Box to present Propinquity and Apart From The Peripheral, two world premieres as well as The Shape of Voice, a continuation of a work commissioned by the Columbia Ballet Collaborative in November 2015.

Rooted in a classical ballet vocabulary but spoken in a contemporary dialect, the ensemble of seven will reconfigure the Black Box Theater space to perform in the round, surrounded by audiences on four sides of the stage. In providing a unique experience and view of these works for each patron, an athleticism, musicality and employment of innovative ideas, music and line redefine the lens through which Artistic Director Morgan McEwen creates.
