Brooklyn, NY - Come out for an afternoon of dance with local artists, students, and neighbors hosted by a modern dance company dedicated to evolving social change through dance performances and community engagement. This community-centered event features a FREE dance workshop open to ALL ages followed by FREE performances by local dance companies and community organizations. Between performances, students from El Puente will lead community dialogues inviting the audience to learn about and investigate a range of social justice themes. These students are currently working with Piper Anderson - artist, writer, educator, and Founder of Create Forward - to develop a collaborative facilitation model rooted in their own interests and experiences.

Performing companies include Moving Spirits, Inc., Sydnie L. Mosley Dances, Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company, DNA Comedy and Rakiya Orange. Local organizations performing include students of the Arts & Literacy Program, students from the Beacon Center for Arts & Leadership, members of El Puente, and The Black and Gold Marching Elite.

"As choreographers and community partners, we have gathered for workshop sessions to discuss our creative process and the significance of sharing work in our communities. We are performing in this underserved community to create platforms for community gathering and networking through movement activities and discussions surrounding community activism. We’re so excited to share this afternoon of dance!"
- Tamara Williams, Founder/Artistic Director
