Alvin Ailey’s Revelations
Cry and Revelations, two masterpieces by Alvin Ailey on this afternoon’s program, were largely inspired by his relationship with his beloved mother. Spend a very special Mother’s Day at NJPAC with a pre-curtain brunch at NICO Kitchen + Bar at 11am. Outside in Theater Square at noon, the Messiah Baptist Church Children of Purpose Choir of East Orange sings inspirational gospel songs from Revelations. Inside the lobby, theatergoers are invited to browse through a boutique of gifts, beauty treatments and products, and other items bound to put a smile on Mom’s face.
