Robyn Orlin, whose exuberant Walking next to our shoes... thrilled audiences in 2011, makes a much-anticipated return to the Kasser with a new work performed by Dakar’s famed Compagnie Jant-Bi. Inspired by the festive, colorful Sénégalese tradition of the Faux Lion, a rite designed to engender bravery in children, At the same time... blends song and dance, personal stories, and audience interaction – all filtered through Orlin’s unique lens on the pressures of contemporary African life.
